The Habs are Back in Town, Series

The Montreal Canadiens found their game on Thursday night in Montreal and handed the Philadelphia Flyers a whooping, taking Game 3, 5-1.

Michael Cammalleri drew first blood, scoring his 13th goal of the postseason, more than any other player in the playoffs. PK Subban bounced back from a dismal performance in the first two games, garnering three assists, and Subban’s defensive partner, Roman Hamrlik came up huge, picking up two assists and a plus-4 rating.

The Flyers simply looked confused on the ice last night, as Montreal outshot them 38-26. Michael Leighton was getting pounded with the puck, yet still managed to pick up 33 saves. Simon Gagne was the lone goal scorer for Philadelphia, and he has been huge in the playoffs since his return. He is such a good player, and the Flyers will need him to continue to step up.

Flyers captain Mike Richards said it best when he said, “That was an old-fashioned butt kicking.”

And a butt kicking it truly was. Montreal has found that magic pixie dust hidden deep inside all of them (or maybe their locker room) and has done it again. After being outscored 9-0 in the first two games, they came back with a vengeance.

There’s still a lot more hockey left to be played. This will be a fun one to watch.

Flyers lead 2-1. Game 4 in Montreal gets underway Saturday, 3 p.m. EST, NBC, CBC, and RDS.
