Red Wings' Right Winger to represent Team Sweden in Vancouver
Detroit Red Wings' right wing Johan Franzen was hoping to be one of the players to represent Sweden in the Winter Olympics. Franzen had a major knee operation in October but found out Sunday he would be a part of Team Sweden.
Franzen took four months off after surgery for a torn ACL. He will take the place of teammate Tomas Holmstrom after experiencing nagging foot and knee injuries.
It will be four months and a week ago Tuesday when Franzen tore his ACL while playing the Blakchawks on Oct. 8, only three games into the season. After missing 55 games, Franzen played three games before the Olympic break, scoring in the last two.

Swedish coach Bengt-Ake Gustafsson told NHL.com, "(His speedy recovery) is not normal by any means, four months after an operation like that to be back on the ice. It's impressive but we're not complaining."
Team Sweden will play Team Germany in their first game of the 2010 Winter Olympics Feb. 17.
