Phoenix Coyotes vs Detroit Red Wings Preview

The Detroit Red Wings have blown a two-goal lead in three of their last four games, which the Phoenix Coyotes hope will work to their advantage. The two face off for the fourth and final time Tuesday. The Coyotes should be careful, as Detroit has taken two of the three in the series, the only loss being in overtime.

Phoenix goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov came up short in a 4-3 road loss to the Capitals Saturday, but will attempt his 27 th win of the season. Bryzgalov has faced 75 shots in the last two games, 41 in a 4-2 victory over the predators. Detroit has been averaging 37 shots per game in their last four contests.

Detroit's Todd Bertuzzi has scored in consecutive games along with Valtteri Flippula adding one goal and two assists in his last three games. On the flip side, Coyotes winger Scottie Upshall had a hat trick against the Predators Thursday. Upsahll's goals on Thursday were his first since Dec. 30.

The Coyotes managed three shots on goal during their five power plays Saturday, but had six shorthanded shots during Washington's seven power plays.

Phoenix will head into Tuesday's game 4-5-1 with Detroit at 4-4-2. A win against the Red Wings would bump the Coyotes into a playoff spot.
