Blackhawks fend off Sharks - Win in overtime
The NHL’s top two teams went face to face last night as Blackhawks’ right wing Troy Brouwer shot the winning goal in overtime. Brouwer’s second goal of the game gave the Blackhawks a 4-3 victory over the Sharks.
The Hawks were up 3-0 before the midway point of the first period, Brouwer scoring one. The first three goals were in a span of 3:21 in the first. San Jose tied the game at 3 in the third, sending the game into overtime. Brouwer got the best of Sharks’ goaltender Evgeni Nabokov with a wrist shot for the win.

Nabokov made 19 saves in the third and killed off a late power play that went into the opening minute of overtime.
Dustin Byfuglien and Andrew Ladd each scored for the Hawks, and Cristobal Huet made 34 saves. The Hawks have won four straight games in San Jose.
Chicago will finish up an eight-game road trip Saturday in Carolina.
