The Chicago Blackhawks snapped a two-game losing streak and evened their January record at three wins and three losses with a 3-1 victory over the Nashville Predators at the United Center last night to start a three-game home stand..

Dustin Byfuglien opened the scoring on Sunday with a power-play goal at 9:11 of the first period when he screamed a slap shot off the inside of the goalpost and in the net from just inside the blue line. Brent Seabrook and Duncan Keith picked up assists. David Bolland provided the winning goal at 5:58 of the second period as he jumped all over a loose puck at the side of the Predator’s net and pounded it home past Dan Ellis. PROSPECT UPDATE: Chicago’s third round draft choice in the 2007 NHL entry draft. Josh Unice found himself doing a lot of travelling last week. After returning to his OHL Kitchener Rangers after representing the Unites States at the World Junior Hockey Championships in Ottawa, Unice was traded to the Windsor Spitfires. Windsor who is currently ranked second among CHL teams completed a multi-player deal that they hope will make them solid Memorial Cup contenders.

Maxime Tanguay who was also chosen in the third round of the 2007 draft by the Blackhawks, had two goals for the Victoriaville Tigres in a 7-2 win over Rouyn-Noranda in QMJHL action January 7. Tanguay has 16 goals and 19 assists in 35 games this season.
