Blackhawks vs Kings - Recap
The Chicago Blackhawks average 9.5 more shots on net than their opponents, leading the league with 34.1 per game and allowing a league-low 24.7. The Los Angeles Kings were held to jus three shots on net in the second period of Thursday night’s 3-0 victory.
The Hawks avoided a first four-game losing streak of the season and are now tied with San Jose for the Western Conference Lead. Right wing on Chicago’s fourth line, Tomas Kopecky, had the second multi-goal game of this career. Troy Brouwer scored his 20 th goal giving the Blackhawks at least five players with 20 or more goals in consecutive seasons since 1990-91. Blackhawks goaltender Antti Niemi made 17 saves for his fifth career shutout.

The Hawks are now 35-7-5 when scoring first and 29-1-2 when leading after two periods. The Blackhawks will travel to Phoenix to face the Coyotes Saturday.
