Blackhawks snuff Flames
It was a quiet first period for the Blackhawks as they battled against the Calgary Flames Thursday night. Patrick Kane made things interesting with a power play in 9:14 of the second with an assist from captain Jonathan Toews.
Calgary's Jamie Lundmark answered back with a power play in 18:31 of the second with assists from Dion Phaneuf and Jarome Iginla tying the game at one. The Hawks had the better of the play and held a 22-13 shot advantage.

Ben Eager ended the tie with assists from Thomas Kopecky and Colin Fraser and Duncan Keith responded with another shot with assists from Marian Hossa and Andrew Ladd.
Hawks goaltender Antti Niemi had 24 saves on 21 shots while Calgary's Miikka Kprusoff had 24 saves on 26 shots.
The 3-1 victory was the Hawks seventh consecutive regular-season win over Calgary. They are 15-12-4 overall and 14-7-3 away from home, improving to 3-1 on their eight-game road trip.
